Wallpaper is a video installation built from a choreographic score composed of short sequences, repeated, displaced and reassembled within the space of editing.

Dancers and choreographers Anne-Catherine Nicoladzé and Mathilde Monfreux performed a series of simple gestures, filmed across several sessions and later recomposed through superimpositions, temporal shifts and looping structures. Gradually, the bodies begin to interact with their own apparitions — crossing paths, pursuing one another or dissolving into the image itself.

The installation develops a visual language close to that of a palimpsest: presences accumulate, linger for a few seconds, then vanish, leaving fragile traces within the projection space. Between appearance and erasure, the figures become almost ghost-like.

The original score, composed for the project, accompanies this layered construction. Oscillating between minimal rhythmic pulses and more contemplative sonic textures, the music creates a mental space suspended between tension and appeasement, where waiting, disquiet and moments of stillness coexist.

Designed for life-size projection onto a translucent tulle screen, Wallpaper seeks less to represent the body than to reveal its persistence: an unstable presence shaped by memory, duration and movement.
