CRASH TEST (2010) — Electroacoustic Experimentations

CRASH TEST brings together a series of sonic experimentations conducted without prior programme, following a logic of trial, accident, and drift. The project assumes a certain lightness: here, research does not harden into system — it puts itself to the test, diverts itself, contradicts itself.

Working alone at the controls, the work explores heterogeneous configurations, combining electroacoustic manipulations, musical fragments, textural experiments, and ephemeral constructions. Each piece functions as a test: an open sonic situation, at times unstable, in which listening confronts forms in the very act of taking shape.

The title invokes this idea of collision — between materials, between intentions, between registers. Yet the aim is less to produce spectacular impact than to observe what emerges from these encounters: precarious equilibria, fertile accidents, minor forms.

The whole asserts a certain nonchalance — understood as a freedom with respect to formal expectation. Not taking oneself seriously becomes, here, a method: making room for the unforeseen, accepting the unresolved, working from what resists.

CRASH TEST thus proposes a fragmentary, mobile mode of listening, in which the sonic is approached as a terrain of experimentation — a space of play as much as of inquiry.
